Plastic free lunch packaging – and a quinoa salad recipe
I stopped buying freezer bags a little more than a year ago. When you don’t have them in your kitchen, you are forced to be a bit creative when packaging your left overs or lunch. Just wanted to share an easy alternative with you, when dealing with a salat. I have a lot of Mason jars at home, and I use them for all sorts of things. This time I used one as a lunch box:)
This salad was really delicious, so why not share the ingredients as well. It can be a bit hard to tell since it’s chopped up pretty thoroughly. It was just a mix of what I had left in my fridge, I wasn’t very particular on how much of each ingredient I put in. Go with your gut and your tastebuds, I would have added an avocado if I’d had one though!
- Green pesto
- Sesame seeds
Chop, chop, chop…
TIP: The finer you chop the salad, the more you can fill in the jar.
TIP: A stainless steel lunch box is also a really great alternative, I bought one home from Whole Foods this summer. You can see it and my stainless steel straws in this post.
TIP: Eat your fruits whole, instead of chopping them up and bringing them in bags or containers;)
BONUS: Glass jars are reusable and recyclable as well;)
Enjoy your lunch and snacks plastic free;) #zerowaste
