Stainless steel straws – The easiest swap for less waste
In my attempt to reduce my waste, I know that some steps will be trickier than others, and that I might have to compromise a bit with my indolence. But not with this one! I drink a smoothie or a juice almost every morning, and I like to drink it from a straw. Would I be able to give up using a straw to produce less waste? Sure I would, but thankfully I don’t have to:)
Let me introduce you to reusable straws! Mine are made from stainless steel, and were the best thing i brought home from LA last summer. I use mine almost everyday, and I actually bought two different thickness, and also extra for my guests.
The obvious one is that I’m now reducing my waste with about 365 plastic straws every year! I don’t have to buy them and my everyday life is the same as before.
They are more expensive than ordinary straws and you have to clean them up after use. I just wash mine with water straight after use, and use a thin washing-up brush made for the purpose (see picture below).
WHERE TO BUY:
Mine was brought home from Whole Foods (my favourite place!) in Venice Beach LA, but here’s a few links on where to get them.
Hope you’ll appreciate these straws as much as me:) Read more about my reasons behind reducing my waste and some more alternatives here #simplyliving #zerowaste
